What is the best course of action to have a new kitchen fitted? Shall I just buy it or consult you first? The best course of action is as follows:
What areas do you work in? We cover West London, Middlesex and big parts of Surrey, basically anywhere where it does not take longer than 1 hour to get to by car from our base in Isleworth, which is close to Heathrow. Do you have any references? Of course. At present we have a portfolio of about 30 recent references. Please contact our secretary if you would like to be put in touch with any of our former clients. Do you provide any guarantees? Yes, all our work if fully guaranteed for 2 years. The guarantee does not however include any materials supplied by the customers. I like your bathroom/kitchen fitting special offer, but my bathroom/kitchen is not so typical and requires some additional things to be done No problem. Our estimator will come over to see the job and we will make adjustment for all those extras or deductions accordingly. Will you provide a skip for all those building works? We can hire a skip from a skip hire company and pass the cost of it onto you, the customer. Depending on size, skips typically cost from £100 - £150 + VAT per week. (The price includes delivery and collection.) If you have your own private driveway that will be your only cost, however if you do not the skip has to be placed on the road you will also a have to obtain a skip permit from your local council. You will have to contact your council to obtain an application form for that, fill it in, send back and wait betwen 3-10 days for the decision. You will also have to pay for such permit. Every council has its own pricing, but you may expect something around £50 per week. Additionally if the skip goes on the road it will have to be lit at night, so it may be necessary to hire skip lights. As the law stands the responsibility for all that lies with the owner of the building, so although your builders may organise the skip hire, they will not be able to help you with obtaining the permit from the council. In practice if you do not have your own driveway it is a better idea to order rubbish collection by a specialis van at the end of the job. It usually works out a little cheaper, although we will need to store the rubbish temporarily somewhere. |
